2013 SGC joins the European gas research organisation GERG.

2012
SGC report 250 ”Anaerobic digestion with initial thermophilic hydrolysis stage for hygiensation and increased methane yield from waste water treatment plants" is published.

2009
A new program period from the Swedish Energy Agency commences in 2009 and proceeds until 2013. The program period means an increased attention to renewable energy gases. Research is carried out in the fields of Biogas technology, Gasification and methanation, Distribution and storage, Gaseous fuels and Energy gas utilisation and environment. SGC report 200 "Substrate handbook for biogas production" is published.

2006
SGC is one of the founders of the 1st Nordic Biogas Conference, held in Helsinki.

2004
SGC report 150 ”Microturbine Energy Systems – The OMES Project” is published.

2001
Work is initated for writing and publishing a series of handbooks in gas technology, today known as GasAkademin, begins.

2000
A special Decission committee is elected with members proposed from both industrial companies and the state.

1993
In december NUTEK (The Swedish board for technical development) decides to participate in a frame program for research, where NUTEK would pay 40 % of the costs up to 2 MSEK during 1994.

1990
The Swedish Gas Technology Centre is founded aiming to co-ordinate the common needs for research and development of the Swedish gas industry.
